Step 3) I traced the heart on the wood backdrop and painted
it with gray chalk paint that I made from a mixture of black and white chalk paint.
Not exact matches
So I put the taupey -
gray away, and moved forward
with Graphite, from Annie Sloan's
chalk paint line.
It comes in sheets and we
painted it
with oil rubbed bronze
paint, then lightly dry brushed
gray chalk paint over the top.
Note: I had originally
painted this
with a light blue
chalk paint color, but decided to go for the distressed
gray and white wood look.
I used this
chalk paint from Michael's in Oyster which has a great
gray undertone, and sealed it
with a clear wax.
The
gray tint gives the top an aged look that goes well
with my
chalk painted armoire.
After sanding it really well
with an electric sander, I bought Valspar spray
paint with a
chalk finish in a very light
gray color.
I had a few options at this point: I could
paint regular latex
paint which I had from another project in a dark
gray, I could
paint chalk paint from another project
with a light blue /
gray tint, I could spray another layer of
chalk paint on it and pray it does a little better than round one, or I could try spraying it
with regular spray
paint in a dark
gray.
I
painted the base and legs
with a mix of different shades of
gray chalk paint I had on hand.
I recently refinished some tall kitchen stools using Amy Howard At Home
chalk paint... I used a «Good Man is Hard to Find» steel
gray and at first I was thrilled
with the outcome... until the
paint dried completely.
I
painted it
with a mixture of
gray and brown
chalk paint to make it more cohesive
with the wood frame above it.
