Although well - validated psychotherapies have been developed for children
with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), these therapies have limited applicability in
juvenile justice context because they have not been tested in this context and do not address the larger
issue of making
juvenile justice systems trauma - informed.
This submission provides an overview of law and
justice issues relating to Indigenous children,
with a focus on
juvenile justice, diversionary programs, public order laws, mandatory sentencing schemes as well as Indigenous community
justice mechanisms and partnership agreements in Australia.
