My initial reaction to the headline about

costs was «if only»!
We need to work
with outriders, take our time and — at all
costs — avoid replicating the dangerous and failing strategy that
Labour has pursued.
Whilst it is true that the
Labour revival has mostly been at the
cost of the Liberal Democrats,
with Conservative support remaining fairly steady on 36/37 points, it is likely that some softer Conservative support will also switch to
