liquid biofuels produced from woody biomass rather than from food crops would also reduce competition
with food production.
Other factors may reduce demand on forests for energy production, for example, technological problems
with liquid cellulosic
biofuel production and transportation - related constraints.

The idea that we could fight a war
with corn ethanol and soy biodiesel, (which account for about 99.9 percent of our
liquid biofuels) is ludicrous, which is why the military has been funding research for alternatives.

biofuels are probably the most touted future hope to replace large amounts of petroleum - based
liquid fuels
with a renewable source.
That said, some sort of tax system for
liquid fuels
with a rebate for those buying approved
biofuels might be part of such a system.
