This is a surprising list of foods for many people, particularly since it contains healthful
vegetables, but
nightshades contain low - level toxins that are known to cause inflammation for some people, especially those
with auto - immune disorders and are dangerous for anyone if consumed in excessive quantities.

nightshades, be cautious of the
nightshade family of

with psoriasis because they contain a class of chemical called alkaloids, and these alkaloids can provoke and stimulate inflammation, rather than suppress.
Many people are allergic to
nightshade vegetables (potatoes being one of them) but Yuca can provide you
with the benefits of a carbohydrate without the problematic effects of
nightshade vegetables.
I was diagnosed
with fibromyalgia years ago and have found that I get a huge inflammation reaction when I eat
NIGHTSHADE VEGETABLES (tomatoes, white potatoes, eggplant, all peppers (except peppercorns).
The AIP diet starts
with the usual Paleo restrictions (no grains, no dairy, no sugar, no legumes) and adds no nuts, no seeds, no eggs, no sweeteners, no
nightshades, no chocolate, no coffee, no
vegetable oils, no processed foods, no alcohol, and no NSAIDS.
All non-starchy
vegetables (p. 43) are acceptable in the Paleolithic diet
with the possible exception of
nightshades, including tomato, eggplant and bell peppers, which can provoke inflammation in sensitive individuals (p. 271).
Remember to trial avoiding the
nightshade family of
vegetables (potato, tomato, eggplant, and chilli) because they can be pro-inflammatory for some
with psoriasis.

The organization suggests that people
with arthritis try cutting
nightshade vegetables from their diets for two weeks to see if symptoms improve.
People
with arthritis may benefit from

with «deadly
nightshade.»
