The researchers detected this SMN long
noncoding RNA, or lnc - RNA (pronounced «link RNA») for short, in human embryonic kidney cells, brain cell samples and neurons derived from the stem cells of healthy people and those
with spinal muscular atrophy type I and II.
Some of the transcripts hail from
noncoding DNA, the researchers report, but those that do match up
with the 399 ENCODE genes overlap
with each other extensively.
They reveal 341 fixed substitutions (35 nonsynonymous, 173 synonymous, and 133
noncoding) between the 2014 EBOV and all previously published EBOV sequences,
