We painted the conduit and the wooden end pieces
with an Oil Rubbed Bronze spray paint.
I spray painted an old brass chandelier

sprayed all four pieces of the moulding we bought
with Rust - o - leum's «

rubbed bronze»
spray paint...

If you decide to go
with a darker hardware I have had a lot of success
with Rustoleum

They are just regular corner brackets that were silver and I
sprayed them
