So this scrolling piece of decorative wood is something I spotted on bulk trash day in our
old neighborhood
with some
cabinet doors someone was throwing out.
We painted our
old, tired, 1970's kitchen
cabinets last year and my recommendation is to get a few samples and painting an entire
door with each color.
I used an
old flat
door with two half - height filing
cabinets to hold it up (a few bricks on top of the
cabinets adjusted the height) for my desk until my son took the system to college
with him.
God has blessed us
with an
old old home (I almost wish it had builder
cabinets so I could paint them)- metal
cabinets, 50's decor and am loving making it a home and a retreat to the many people who walk through our

I am good
with tools but I also have some
old cabinet doors laying around and need 2 twin headboards so maybe I will do this!
I deliberately distressed extra around the knobs to give the illusion that it is
old and was worn away
with years to opening the
cabinet doors.
With our
old in - swing
door gone, we now have full use of our counter top and
cabinets.
Replacing
old worn out
cabinet doors with new ones or sanding and refinishing your
old ones will give your kitchen a sleek new look.
