Old Masters with present - day aesthetics to create striking self - portraits; British
print - maker John Phillips whose eerie still lifes are created from over 1,000 separate photographs; and American painter Lucy Beecher Nelson who reinvents 15th century Italian marriage portraits.

As in the past, there will be a wide range of
Old Master, European & American Modern, Contemporary, and Asian
prints to cater to most enthusiasts» appetites and interests,
with dealers and publishers presenting their finest works for perusal.
The Fair brings together around 50 international exhibitors
with expert
print knowledge, providing an excellent opportunity to buy contemporary
prints and rare works by modern and
old masters.
Amongst these additions, an Etruscan mirror
with a line drawing of a running Sun god sets up a dialogue
with Picasso's engraved line; the etching of the artist drawing the model by Rembrandt establishes how much Picasso learnt and was inspired by the
old master; and a beautifully austere bust of the head of Hercules from the villa of the Emperor Hadrian is a wonderful counterpoint to the
prints of the sculptor and model.
The most comprehensive holdings are in
prints,
with an especially fine
Old Master collection.

printed with reproductions of iconic paintings by da Vinci, Fragonard, Rubens, Titian, and Van Gogh and overlaid
with the respective artist's name — e.g., «DA VINCI» — in bling - y metallic lettering.
Many of the
prints share similar subject matter
with works in Dulwich Picture Gallery's own permanent collection, providing a modern take on themes treated by
Old Masters.
The exhibition is accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue
with essays by Cheryl K. Snay, curator of European art, Snite Museum of Art, University of Notre Dame; Jonathan Bober, curator of
Old Master prints, National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.; and Kenneth M. Grant, paper conservator, Harry Ransom Center.
In addition it includes oils by a host of
Old Masters and modern artists like Picasso, along
with watercolours, drawings, and
prints.
The exhibition is therefore organized into contextual sections
with a wide range of mediums and styles — from
old masters to emerging technologies such as 3D
printed sculptures.

Old Master Through Modern
Prints,
with a prodigious selection of works completed before the nineteenth century.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue written by Freyda Spira
with Peter Parshall, former head of the department of
