However, rest assured that
other moms just like you have been through struggles
with encouraging their children to give up
breastfeeding, and you're not alone.
I spoke
with a few
other moms to see how they felt when they discovered they couldn't really
breastfeed.
The misinformation or poorly managed
breastfeeding challenges that they tend to share allow the Leader or
other moms to balance their stories
with correct information.
Begin surrounding yourself
with other moms who have had positive experiences
with breastfeeding.
Others NEED to hear that some
moms have problems
with breastfeeding, some physical, some emotional.
First time
moms know so little about
breastfeeding because they don't live surrounded by
other women
breastfeeding and they don't live
with other women to support them through the steep learning curve.
As
with a formula - fed infant,
breastfeeding moms should usually only consider gas a true issue if it is excessive or accompanied by
other symptoms.
I also talk to
other new
moms I'm close to to encourage them
with breastfeeding and help them find the resources they need to get through rough patches.
Being an older
mom (39), I had already decided I did not really want to
breastfeed because I needed help from my husband and
other family members and did not mind starting
with formula.
