This CVT has manual modes which you can select either using the shift stick on the transmission tunnel console or
with paddle shifts placed behind the steering wheel.

I like that the
paddle shifters are
placed on the steering column rather than the steering wheel, but that's a personal preference and one that many staffers seem to disagree
with.
If you aren't prepared to make the effort to get to know it then you should probably opt for the
paddle -
shift transmission in the first
place, but the flip - side of that is if you're going to make the effort you should be rewarded
with a great gearshift.
Interior trim is impeccable
with the aforementioned exception of the gangly
paddle shifters,
placed exactly where the fingertips expect to find a turn - signal stalk.
The electric power steering doesn't give the driver a huge amount of feel, but its accurate and direct, and the eight - speed gearbox offers satisfyingly crisp changes that can be snapped into
place with the gorgeous fixed aluminium

placed selector lever can be operated much better than the elegant steering wheel lever of the Mercedes, and the transmission reacts more spontaneously to manual commands
with the
shift paddles.
Instead, the company assumes that anyone
with half a brain would prefer to use the more conveniently
placed metal
paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
Love or hate the aesthetic, it's hard to argue
with the supportive but comfortable sport buckets and the driving position that
places the steering wheel and its
paddles, the
shift lever and infotainment controls nicely at hand.
