Seeing as these are low carb and you need energy, you totally get to replace the maple syrup
with pure sugar.
Some have had problems
with pure sugar alcohols causing tummy issues but the secret to Virtue is that it is combined with Monk Fruit and by volume, is 4 times as sweet as sugar so you only need less.
You start off with sugar cane, and through refining you remove everything that is not sugar, and you are left
with pure sugar.
