You can easily distress your
own with sand paper and I highly recommend this because distressed denim tends to be more expensive.
Make sure to smooth the surface out
with sand paper after using the surform plane otherwise it will be left a bit uneven.
Although tempted to give up completely, I decided to scrape away all the paint from the glass and remove the worst of the wrinkled patches from the
shells with sand paper.
If you sand before waxing though - the Chalk Paint ® that you are
removing with the sand paper will turn into a fine powder and settle down on the floor... put a drop cloth down to save on mess.
Give painted furniture a distressed finish Rub down a painted armoire or a chest of

After using the hair dryer to dry our various coats of paint, we distressed the edges
with sand paper and smoothed the top surface with the sand paper, allowing some of the brown to peek through.
If the inside (wear surface on drum) is glazed, hit

You need to rough the area up (scuff it up
with sand paper) as well as cut a groove in the crack (grind a valley at the crack).
There was resistance in the camp (read: from The Mister) about this step; and I must admit, it is a bit daunting to painstakingly achieve a perfect finish and then attack
it with sand paper.
I started out
with sand paper but good grief that took forever.
How about attaching wire basket to distressed wood, paint your can distressing
it with some sand paper and plant with your favorite flowers or succulents.
