I've written before about podcasting as CLE, but
with screencasting, you can easily produce and package a complete audiovisual presentation and easily make it available for broad distribution via the Web or on CD - ROM.
Here's one example that strikes me as particularly interesting: using a tablet
with a screencasting app, teachers can record their students grappling with a problem and reflect on what led to their understanding (or failure to understand).
