I like to offer some lighter
sides to pair
with the heavier traditional Thanksgiving potatoes and
stuffing.
In an effort to have me eat along
with everybody else, my mom started preparing all sorts of
sides that I incredibly enjoyed, so I would end up
stuffing my face
with vegetables rather than pasta or duck!
I use this vegan and gluten free
stuffing with turkey, Cornish hens or just as a
side dish
with roast chicken or even fish.
We grow big and are perfect baked and
stuffed with sour cream and butter and cheese and bacon and chives served
with a gigantic steak on the
side.
There's Sundried Tomato Sourdough Toast on the
side, and Chilli's cooking up her crab
Stuffed Portabellos, topped
with parmesan cheese.
I am making pork chops cooked in apple cider
with apples / onions, on the bottiom i sliced apple and onions seared off my 1 thick chops (4) placed that on top, then i mixed the
stuffing according to your recipe and placed that on top after spraying the
sides so
stuffing wont stick.
Growing up, Thanksgiving dinner to me meant a mountain of Stove Top
stuffing, suffocating in gravy

side of lemon garlic green beans, which I made by simply blanching green beans in boiling water and then water sautéing them in garlic, lemon juice and Mrs. Dash Lemon Pepper Seasoning (my favorite).
And, let me tell you on a
side note, I'm so glad you don't put all those distracting calories and fat grams and
stuff with your recipes, because if you had them, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to pretend that eating a huge piece of the lemon poundcake counts as a «serving of fruit», cause it totally counts as a serving of fruit, right?
