I experiment with driving the Dodge
with the traction control on, then off, and then in Sport mode.
We got our best numbers
with the traction control on.
With traction control on or off, the big Pontiac lost less time in the wet than the Chrysler.
Not surprisingly it pushes a bit, but
with traction control on you can really lean on the throttle as the Mini gathers its legs under it, traction light flashing away, then bites.
The least intrusive traction control mode — Track — provided more than enough slide for track use, and I'd suspect that most drivers would be much faster on a track
with the traction control on.
This truck is a rocket off the line, and if you have any angle dialed in on the steering wheel, it will loosen a tire or two, even
with the traction control on.
But
with the traction control on, I didn't have one problem in the slush that's been on the road since.
It spins the tires
with the traction control on, off or in sport mode.
Even
with the traction control on and set to track mode, giggle - inducing slides are all too easy — something best attempted only on the track.
Even if they didn't feel quite as quick off the line as the old XR6T — probably because of the absolute lack of wheel spin
with traction control on or off, in Sport mode — subsequent runs on different surfaces throughout the day were the same or a tenth or two slower, proving the XR6 Sprint is consistently quick in a variety of conditions.
With the traction control on, IS passed the moose test with rubber to spare.

controlled cord
traction is a recognised technique in active management of the third stage and at least one study has shown it has no impact either way
on PPH, so it isn't like the student OB was doing something totally weird and crazy
with a predictably horrible outcome.

with oil / engine - eating problems, but the later models are reliable to 100k + miles and cost similar to the same aged Smart Roadster above... but compared to the Smart, for your # 2k - # 5k you get a 6 speed manual gearbox, over 70 % more power (~ 20 % more weight) but this is packaged in a mid-engined, rear wheel drive, normally aspirated car
with no
traction control and a LSD as standard:)

Oh and try switching off
traction control on a 590hp car and flooring it from 20mph
with RWD.
Traction control comes in much later even
with all of the nannies

The stability
control system — which in common
with many SUVs can't be fully deactivated — takes a particularly dim view of any kind of slippage, positively slamming
on the brakes when it detects any sort of
traction failure.
We drove the car for a short time
on snow covered roads, so even
on suitable tyres it's no surprise the Aston struggled to put it's power down,
with only very progressive applications of the throttle avoiding the interference of
traction control.
