If you're on board
with Motorola's mission, to keep the
bezel around the screen as
thin as possible and enhance the overall look of the device, then this clearly won't be an issue.
That is a rather odd placement of the fingerprint scanner, mainly because the Galaxy S8 comes
with a rather large 5.8 - inch display, and despite the fact it offers really
thin bezels, it's
not exactly a tiny smartphone, and reaching that fingerprint scanner might be somewhat difficult.
The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus may sport
thinner bottom
bezel, compared to Samsung's 2018 flagships, but they may also arrive
with slightly larger displays, so the general footprint won't change much, at least according to a recent leak.
While it didn't share precise details on the smartphone, one of the images shows a device
with an exceedingly
thin bezel on the left and right sides.
It is admittedly
not the best looking user interface out there, but there are some interesting features baked in,
with some of them taking advantage of the super
thin side
bezels.
As already mentioned, the LG V30 is made out of metal and glass, and it actually has really
thin bezels, which certainly don't help
with drops, but the phone did manage to do just fine despite that.
The two devices do
not look identical however, as the Pixel 2 XL comes
with thinner bezels, and is larger than the Google Pixel 2, while it also sports a curved display.
