The chocolate log is filled
with whole almonds, cookie crumbs, dried cranberries and my addition of orange zest and crystallized ginger.
It is different from almond meal which is made
with whole almonds, meaning with almonds with the skins attached.
I made
them with whole almonds that I threw in my food processor with more banana, no maple syrup.
The problem of omega 6s remains, with almond oil containing 20 % omega 6 vs just 10 % in olive oil, but as
with whole almonds, you can make this harmless with a little rearrangement.
I LOVE almond bits, slices, chunks, almond milk, and almond butter — but I struggle
with whole almonds.
If made
with whole almonds, it provides 3 grams of fiber per two tablespoon serving.
I prefer to start
with whole almonds and make my almond butter because freshly ground nut butter has no equal for flavour.
Ice the top of the Christmas cake with it, and finish it off by grating over fresh nutmeg and decorating
with whole almonds if desired.
Now that I have a proper high performance blender I'll be trying
this with whole almonds myself.
They're perfect when you're in a pinch and have run out of almond flour since they're made
with whole almonds!
How is the texure
with the whole almonds in the batter of the cake?
And is the almond milk really tastier if made
with whole almonds (with the skin?)?
A few notes about the ingredients; the crust can be made
with whole almonds and unsweetened coconut, but if you really want that shortbread texture and color blanched almonds or almond meal is what you're looking for.
You could substitute either recipe with a 1/2 cup of almond butter (it may be hard to get a smooth batter
with whole almonds); the flavor will be altered slightly, but I bet they will still taste great:)!
It's all topped off
with a whole almond covered with ganache.
And even if you don't like coconut, power through its copious layers of copra and you'll be rewarded
with a whole almond in the middle!

almond milk, extra virgin olive oil, coconut sugar, cranberries and orange, these muffins make a great clean eating, on - the - go breakfast!
They've been a little lonely hanging out in the pantry while I play
with new recipes and try to figure out this
whole Paleo baking without
almonds thing — which I so do not have the hang out yet.
However, if you have diabetes / pre-diabetes and you are including bananas as part of a
whole meal then I would just balance them
with some healthy fat (avocados, nuts, etc.) You could have a banana on top of a piece of sprouted

with a refreshing glass of iced coffee +

with this family recipe for Italian

For those who had issues
with grinding the
whole almonds, what I did was grind them in my coffee grinder and then added tot the date mixture in the food processor.
And, the Crunchy
Almond Oatmeal Crisp provides the perfect crunch along
with a healthy serving of
whole grains and other nutrients.
I still think a smoothie should be somewhat sweet and creamy, and instead of blending a
whole bunch of veggies together, which could be a little strange and not very appetising, I have made a green juice out of broccoli, lemon, cucumber, zucchini and apples and then blended it
with avocado and
almonds.
