In my opinion, it's easier to read a sentence
without the right
apostrophe instead of a sentence that used it in the incorrect place.
I remember as a young reader being totally baffled by Joel Chandler Harris, who went so heavy on the southern illiterate vernacular that I couldn't understand it at all, OTO — Lewis Grassic Gibbon wrote in Scots vernacular,
without a lot of phonetical misspellings and
