Between 2012 - 13 and 2015 - 16, California saw a dramatic increase in the number of teachers entering the field on substandard credentials and permits — that is,
without completing a teacher preparation program or meeting requirements for a preliminary teaching credential.
The use of the NETS - T to frame curriculum development in both PK - 12 and
teacher preparation program settings supports the notion that meaningful learning experiences for children are not
complete without the inclusion of technology (Weinburgh, Collier, & Rivera, 2003).
