women on a board make a difference at all?

Last October, I looked around the table during a Lessonly
board meeting and thought to myself, «How do the
women on the team feel when they walk past this room and see a bunch of men
making big decisions
on their behalf?»
Recently, Equilar, a research firm that focuses
on board recruitment, put together a Gender Diversity Index and predicts that the
board of directors
on the Russell 3000 list — the 3000 largest companies based in the United States — will achieve parity, with a membership
made up of 50 percent
women and 50 percent men, by the fourth quarter of 2055.
Women's instincts
made them better problem - solvers, but the researchers posited that those tendencies could
make them look like troublemakers
on male - dominated
boards.
Taken to its logical extreme, his research seems to argue that
boards should have only female directors, but he's careful to point out that not all
women score highly
on complex moral reason (sometimes known as «CMR») decision -
making, and some men do.

boards on average, movement toward greater gender parity is evident with the proportion of new nominees that are
women nearly doubling over the past seven years at larger firms,» Kamonjoh said in a statement.
«It actually does send a shiver up my spine, it actually
makes me kind of angry that there aren't enough
women on boards,» said Hudson.
