wonderful film could have so easily been made into a silly comedy but is fortunately instead a bittersweet drama that relies on a captivating

characters including an excellent turn from Josh Brolin as futuristic super soldier «Cable», a
wonderful performance from upcoming young talented star Julian Dennison (hunt for the wilder people), the obligatory Hugh Jackman cameo and a mega hard Super Villain who makes his previous onscreen incarnation seem like Vinny Jones in a giant penis suit... Oh wait!
Cage's
performance is one of the best and most memorable of his career, and it's bolstered by a
wonderful script by Nicolas and Ted Griffin, but the key to his
character might secretly be Scott's direction, which effectively brings us into Roy's discombobulated mindset while still mastering both the comedic tone and the human element.
He does a
wonderful job on bringing the
character to life with a nuanced
