Before nailing in the rungs, apply a little bit of
wood glue on each end.
Apply a thin layer of liquid nails or
wood glue on the back of the board and nail 1-1/4 ″ finish nails into the corners and / or studs.
Once all the length were lined up, I took that back wooden piece that I took off previously, put
some wood glue on it, and hammered in those staples again to the back of the planks.

Then he painted
some wood glue on the end of the arm where it would attach to the back and also inside the hole.
I used two smaller pallets that were definitely not going to be used for anything else, put a generous amount of
wood glue on the back of them, and then glued them down behind all the pallets.

Deacon describes himself as a «fabricator», emphasising the construction behind the finished object — although many of the works are indeed cast, modelled or carved by hand — and accordingly the logic of the fabrication is often exposed: sinuous curved forms might be bound by

wood or have screws and rivets protruding from sheets of steel, wearing their hearts
