"Wood shims" refers to thin, flat pieces of wood used for leveling or adjusting surfaces. They are typically wedge-shaped and help in supporting or aligning objects.

We ended up with some pretty big gaps at the bottom to accommodate for the doors, so we
used wood shims between the base of the bookcase and the baseboard.

me some wood shims and although I've seen wood shim mirrors before, I have never seen one as freakin» beautiful as yours!
To make the pumpkin stems, I stained
some wood shims that I found at our local hardware store a dark stain, then used my jigsaw to cut the ends off to give a more rustic, ripped from the vine look.

I seriously nailed
these wood shims directly to the wall and hot glued the small clothes pins to them.

the wood shims come in one length or did you cut these to your liking?
There are certainly trendy expressions of the sunburst mirror, like the sputnik styles of the 60s and 70s, and
the wood shim DIY types now (which I've done myself and love), but the sunburst mirror in general is timeless.
