Hannelore Baron's sculptural hodgepodges — assembled from
wood scraps, personal belongings, and other refuse — reflect the losses she
experienced as a child during Hitler's regime: before her family escaped Germany, their textile
shop was destroyed and their home ransacked during Kristallnacht.
