The Digested Read — John Crace of the Guardian does a series of short podcasts where he talks
about one
new book coming out in
about 500
words.
Just this morning I read a
new review of one of my
books and was quite astonished that while it was complimentary
about the story, the main complaint was that it was not a 110,000
word novel.
They say the Gatekeepers (agents, slush readers, and first - line editors) are there for a reason, ensuring that
new product is of the highest possible quality, that they've ensured that booksellers aren't loaded down with crap (and said brick and mortar booksellers are in complete agreement, only accepting
books from major, established publishing houses), and that they and their staffs produce a truly professional final product, handling editing, design, and marketing so the author only has to worry
about the
words.
Smart Look - up is yet another
new feature, which integrates a full dictionary definition with other reference information
about a

It's going to take time getting the

about the challenge that authors face with the most common questions they often have when first starting out; questions that include the following: How do I get the right people to discover my
new book?
But we also think carefully
about language and terminology, and while we continue to use the
word book, we feel that we need to imbue it with
new meaning to account for the
new ways in which people are writing and reading.
Because there are so many authors (traditional and self - published) online making noise
about their
books, it's up to you to think outside the box and develop
new ways to get the
word out there.
I was a
new author who had recently self - published his first
book and needed to get the
word out
about it.

Amazon says that its Kindle Singles, which launched earlier this week, is designed for pieces that are between 10,000 and 30,000
words — or between 30 and 90 printed pages (
about twice the length of an article in The
New Yorker or several chapters of a
book).
While there are
new — and effective — ways of getting the
word out
about your
book, media outreach is still a great option for some authors.

I had never put my ebooks into print before and had no clue how many pages each

words are just inadequate to describe how helpful your newsletter and tips are to
new authors who have so much to learn
about blogging and marketing their

This means that authors are forced to use their own funds to get

As I read between the lines of a March 8, 2010

about the veracity of their

book promotion opportunities.

About the
Book Most people have no idea goblins live in the woods around the small town of Bellwater, Washington.
Armed with this
new awareness
about my

First, to get the
word out that your
new book exists (remember what Lynne Cantwell told us
about effective frequency), selling some
books while setting other readers up for future sales and second, to get a jump on the number of reviews on Amazon and other retailers.
