When I first started I quickly realised that I had a lot to learn about
travel blogging, and in particular to find my voice and my best «fit»
as a
travel blogger — there are so many different ways that
travel bloggers work that it can be challenging to focus on the options which will suit you best.
Membership has been booming, with professional
bloggers now being accepted into the 55 - year - old Guild for the first time, and a record number of Guild members have submitted
work for its highly - competitive membership awards competition
as well
as for its Tourism Awards — the three finalists in its three geographical categories will be determined in early September and the winners of both Member and Tourism Awards announced at the Guild's prestigious Awards Dinner to be held at the Savoy Hotel, November 1, the eve of World
Travel Market.
The reason for this is that with the announcement that much of the
travel industry is increasing their PR & Marketing budgets by up to 20 % to
work with
travel bloggers, this means that
travel bloggers such
as myself will be able to dedicate a lot more time in the future to producing amazing
travel content for their readers.
Antoine is a Canadian
travel blogger who now lives in the Cayman Islands, where he
works in marketing and
travels as much
as possible, both to local Caribbean islands and to destinations further afield.
Meanwhile, I was sure at first these social
travel market events would have many
travel companies falling over themselves to press their business cards into
travel bloggers» hands, seeing
as they kept telling us that social media was the way forward and
travel bloggers is who they should be
working with.

travel writers have several strings to their bow; some
work as copywriters,
bloggers, social media managers etc. in addition to
travel writing.
When it comes to HOW to make money though
as a
travel blogger (being a
travel blogger and making money
as a
travel blogger don't always go together), here are some things that
work.
As a result, we've already successfully matched up a number of
travel companies with exactly the kinds of
travel bloggers that they were looking to
work with.
Okay, I understand it's exciting to know that
travel bloggers are going on press trips,
working as brand ambassadors, and participating in full blown campaigns located in beautiful destinations.
I'm very glad I did,
as it was an incredible learning experience, where I also met loads of other cool
travel bloggers and interesting brands to potentially
work with.
I'm sure any other
travel blogger that is keen to succeed will gain benefit from this book
as long
as they are passionate about
travel and
work hard.
