Friends of Strays is part of a group effort in Pinellas County to
work with our partner shelters to save lives and impact the community through responsible pet ownership.
Now, we can
work with our partner shelters on a weekly basis rather than the struggle and high cost of a monthly transport.
The ASPCA will continue to
working with partner shelters throughout the country to place the remaining animals.

shelter care for confiscated animals; raise global awareness of the suffering involved in illegal dog theft, transport and slaughter, including at China's annual Dog Meat Festival in Yulin; expose the horror of subterranean killing pits in Nagaland in India; and
work with dog meat farmers in South Korea to transition them to more humane ways of making a living.

shelters which have demonstrated large strides in decreasing euthanasia rates by promoting adoptable animals regardless of breed,
working with rescue
partners, and building animal welfare programs in the community.
About the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals ® The Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit charity that
works with more than 150
partner rescue groups and no - kill
shelters to offer important programs and services to save the lives of NYC's homeless animals.

partner with RuffTail Runners, a program where running Team Spiridon takes along a
shelter dog on their daily runs and walks to give volunteers and
shelter works a break!
Reactive programs are those that
work to save the animals once they have reached the
shelters, and include adoption programs, foster homes,

partners, and programs like Feral Freedom, which may be the single most effective program for saving the lives of community cats entering our
shelters, who would typically die without this type of intervention.
Along
with our other Future Five
Shelter Partners, they have already become a national model and bringing Mitch Schneider out to
work with the team is just one more way we can support them in their
work for the cats of the community.

The organization
works with a team of volunteers and

TLCAD
partners with local
shelters and rescue organizations, to rescue dogs that have the right health and temperament for service dog

There are 45
shelters represented — most of which we are
partnering or
working intensively
with in a way that requires individual animal data collection.
In November, we
worked with our rescue
partners from all over the country to rescue 700 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens from overcrowded municipal
shelters, an inhumane commercial breeding facility in the Midwest, and other less - than - ideal conditions.
Because of a shared mission of caring about animals and
working together as a team, SEAACA collaborates
with Adoption
Partners that include but are not limited to adoption organization (some are breed specific);
sheltering organizations (private and government); and Humane Foundations to place / transfer adoptable care center animals after they have been available for adoption by the general public.
Paw
Works is a nonprofit rescue organization that
partners with county and city
shelters to give abandoned animals a second chance at life.
The
partners have plans to
work more closely
with rescue groups to transfer and relocate animals to receiving
shelters.
We currently
work with shelters and rescue groups in Colorado and transfer
partners outside Colorado, primarily in Oklahoma and Texas.

with our Maddie's Fund Community

with Alachua County's municipal public intake
shelter, Alachua County Animal Services to reduce the euthanasia rate from over 7,000 per year to under 1,000.
Working with federal agencies, state veterinary medical associations, local colleges of veterinary medicine, AVMA members, industry
partners,
shelters and the public, the AVMA has created a comprehensive resource on its website which includes emergency hotlines, links to grant applications, and the latest information on available
shelters.
It's a pretty remarkable thing to be the first one to stop by and start to
work with a scared cat who finds herself at the
shelter, and to be part of the team that helps her get to the point where she's ready to find her match in the adoption gallery or through one of our
partners.

The Banfield Pet Hospital is in communication
with their
partners Texas A&M Veterinary Emergency Teamwho has been deployed on site to assess the veterinary needs of impacted pets, American Humane, who is
working with the local government to determine when they can go down to assist, and theAmerican Red Cross, who is providing updates on both the human and pet needs within their
shelters.
Partnering for Pets, Inc. is currently

shelters throughout the Bay Area and in Central California counties to collectively save over 24,000 animals, placing them in loving, permanent homes.

partnered with veterans who have post-traumatic stress disorder and / or traumatic brain injuries.
