The Border Force Act 2015 says that from July 2015 contracted
workers including doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals face a prison sentence of up to two years for blowing the whistle on substandard
medical care given to asylum seekers
in detention
centres.
Professor Sanders, who is also Director of the Parenting and Family Support
Centre, University of Queensland, gathered along with almost 300 parenting experts
in the Rocky Mountains town of Banff for the three - day conference, which brought together policy makers, researchers,
medical practitioners, educators, students and frontline family support
workers.
