The graduate scheme is a bit unusual in that my role might differ greatly from other
working on the graduate scheme.

Employers in the UK are taking
on more
work experience students, expanding their
graduate schemes and looking to hire more apprentices, according to new research that predicts youth unemployment will fall over coming months.
Start
working on those contacts and remember that
graduate schemes aren't going to suit everybody.
Before the changes, a post-study
work scheme allowed non-EU students who
graduated in the UK to stay
on and
work for two years.
While this might sound daunting, it allows you to take real ownership over your
work and be in charge of far larger projects than you would be involved in
on a traditional
graduate scheme.
Youth unemployment rates may still tower above the UK's average jobless rate, but UK employers are also planning to take
on more
work experiencers, apprentices and expand
graduate schemes.

Despite the fact that most leading employers require
graduates to
work in their busy HR departments, it's not that straightforward to secure a spot
on an HR
graduate scheme - or any other for that matter.
Alternatively, if you have a degree, you can apply for a place
on a charity
graduate scheme, though this will be highly competitive and you'll need relevant
work experience to have a decent chance of success.
Some people thrive
on large
graduate schemes, others prefer obtaining a specific entry - level role or
working for smaller companies.

To secure a place
on a Big Four
graduate scheme, you will need an excellent academic background, fantastic

work on the Policy Information and Communications stream of Cancer Research UK's
graduate scheme, and there are also streams for Fundraising and Marketing, Scientific Strategy and Funding, Finance and Technology.
After two successful years

graduate scheme applicants will potentially have had the training and experience for a level five position at Boots, and I have
worked hard to get there quickly.
