Apple is already rumored to be working on a 12.9 inch iPad of its own, its expected to release such a tablet next year, but one can't say that Cupertino's following in Samsung's footsteps, seeing as how rumors about both companies
working on large tablets emerged only earlier this year.

tablets but the phone interface can feel a bit big
on some of the
larger screens out there.
Good thing Dell is already
working on a
larger - screen convertible
tablet / netbook, the 10 - inch Inspiron Duo, which Dell's David Zavelson demonstrated at the Intel Developer Forum Sept. 14.
As mentioned a few comments above, any 10 ″ or
larger tablet is going to
work fine for PDFs but the screen ratio
on the HD 10 isn't ideal.
