There is no doubt an infusion of
other working stock dog blood and perhaps a bit of Dingo created a dog that was perfectly suited to the harsh, dry conditions of Australia and mountainous, wet climate of New Zealand.
Originally bred as
a working stock dog, the Collie developed a wide range of talents.
Although the primary role of the Border Collie is that of
the working stock dog, dogs of this breed are becoming increasingly popular as pets.
