The need for a more - flexible schedule can arise from a variety of personal and professional situations,

children who were pre-adolescent and in early adolescence at the beginning of these studies, negative impacts on schooling outcomes (e.g. grade repetition) are found, regardless of whether the program
included earnings supplements or not.21 These negative effects were most pronounced for adolescents
with younger siblings, suggesting that single parents may have relied on their adolescents for the care of the
younger children as they went to
work, and these responsibilities may have impeded adolescents» schooling.

with traumatized

The My Brother's Keeper task force report to the president recommended that «All sectors of society, as well as parents themselves [must] do more to help ensure that parents and caregivers are equipped

children succeed...» The projects funded by the grants announced today embrace this goal and
include work in communities that have accepted the My Brother's Keeper Community Challenge, a call to action for cities, towns, counties and Tribal Nations to build and execute plans to ensure that all
