Students in the UK also study my
work quite frequently and I am bombarded by their questions... SO theoretically I should continue to paint in this genre (which I may do, as I do love this type
of art)... but I am torn as I have a new genre — paintings to do with obesity / healthy eating / weight issues etc — which is a relatively new and uncommon topic in
fine art, and I am positive has a lot
of potential, and is really an issue which greatly interests me... so the question is whether I should then focus all my effort
on this?
I don't know what's «industry standard practice» for
fine art galleries these days, regarding pricing
works on paper vs.
works on canvas, but my suspicion is that the reason for the * historical * difference between the two is that
works on paper are perceived to be less «serious» (after all, watercolor started out as a quick way for oil painters to sketch out drafts), and less long - lasting (historically, a lot
of watercolors were fugitive, and tended to fade with time, unlike varnished oil paintings).

Limitations in some templates; too much wasted white space (would love my
work to be displayed much larger); integration
of pages to sell prints and / or products with my
work on it in pages with the original artwork (lower priced or alternative options for folks who aren't yet ready to invest in
fine art); room setting view where customers can see the size / shape
of a painting / print in an actual room like over a couch or bed, in a kitchen, etc; greater options in template layout (social buttons and email NL signup at top
of page, etc).

And there was certainly a time, not so long ago, when I was also a fully paid - up McKeever Believer: his seriousness, his commitment to the act
of painting, and the complete absence from his
work of what the American painter Gary Stephan has dubbed «visual sarcasm» — that is, the use
of paint only in order to flaunt its supposed inadequacy and redundancy — made him seem like a bulwark against the insufferable smart - alec nihilism
of Richard Prince, Wade Guyton, or Christopher Wool; and against the prevailing attitudes within the Higher Education establishment at which I both teach, and study
on the MA programme, where the buzz - phrase
on the
Fine Art Critical Studies syllabus is «post-Making»; in other words, goodbye and good riddance to all that messy business with brushes and squeegees and welding torches, once and for all.
