This month's
program includes the premiere of GENERATION SHIP, a site specific performative tour of Mana conceived by Caitlin Baucom and performed by a
community of Brooklyn based artists; an artist talk with Oliver Herring
in conversation with International Sculpture Center's Executive Director Johannah Hutchinson; and Opening The Mind's Eye, an ekphrastic poetry
workshop in the exhibition John Chamberlain: Photographs.

Workshop's Resident Gallery Artist
program seeks to connect the Capitol Hill
community with working artists and their process.
For this site - specific project, Rios Ferreira initiated the work through
community engagement, conducting
workshops with teenagers
in youth
programs at Wave Hill and at Casita Maria, two Bronx - based cultural institutions.
The 1980s saw the opening of the Charles H. Scott Gallery and the establishment of the Industrial Design Department, along with an outreach
program that included the implementation of
workshops in remote
communities, part - time studies and summer classes, and educational television
programming such as Mark & Image (1988), developed
in collaboration with the Knowledge Network.
The
program provides early career, self - directed artists time, space and support to experiment and develop a new body of work
in a creative supportive
community environment of 160 rotating visiting
workshop artists / instructors and hundreds of students.
BOLT functions as a creative and professional incubator that takes a holistic approach to the development of residents» careers by providing: Studio Work Space (well - equipped, open - plan studio work spaces); Exhibition
Programming (monthly rotating exhibitions of residents» work
in a dedicated gallery, including professional curating and marketing support); Professional Development (one - on - one studio visits with key arts / cultural leaders; free access to the Coalition's monthly A.B.C professional development
workshops; and ongoing support from the Coalition staff); and Creative
Community (monthly resident meetings, peer networking and creative environment fostering collaboration among residents).
