Just as at last summer's Lambeth conference (the decennial meeting of the
world's Anglican bishops), there was a strongly expressed desire to grow closer together as a global communion, to become a genuine
church marked by common confession and discernment, rather than a mere federation of autonomous local
bodies.
It is not because they don't want to be members of Christ's
church, but because they are members of Christ's
church, the
Body, and have found that Jesus wants them to serve the
Body and love the
world in ways that waste less time and money.
We are the
