world lenses, a new twist on its popular face filters that continues the company's exploration of augmented reality.
And sure, Snapchat may not be the first do it, but
World Lenses are likely to be the most widespread use of environmental AR outside of Pokemon GO.
That's now changed: Snapchat today announced
World Lenses, which add some pizzazz to everything around you — not just your face.
Just today, Snapchat introduced
world lenses, which project similar 3D images into the world around you.
The 3D Bitmojis can be found in the Lens carousel next to face and
World Lenses, and when you're done animating for the moment, you can send your masterpiece to your Snapchat friends or post it to your Story.
Amidst controversy over alleged comments from CEO Evan Spiegel, a lawsuit and fierce competition from Instagram, Snapchat released a new feature: 3D
World lenses.
Snapchat's version of World Effects, called
World Lenses, was first rolled out to users back in April of this year.

Snapchat launched a version of this product back in April, calling
it world lenses.
There's no way to apply lenses to faces — or the app's new «
World Lenses» — after you shoot a video with Spectacles.
For now, normal users will be limited to creating what Snap calls «

These announcements come on the same day Snapchat released
World Lenses, 3D lenses in the app, another form of AR.
