@RSH what I was trying to say is that it takes more than world class players to win you the league. In many instances the mentality factor far outweighs the quality when the team is playing on the Wenger. With Wenger I don't see us having a strong mentality. We might have even lost the battle before it is fought.Trust me there's a higher chance w» ell not win the EPL if even Wenger made all the right signings. You know why? It's not because of the so called quality of other teams but we will be the cause of our own downfall this season again.
I don't know how many players are better than Lucas in our team, sometimes I am sick of arsenal fc, he can create chances and he can score, why can, t Mr Wenger just give him the chance to play if not favoritism on is part...... neymar is the most expensive signing in the world how many tackle does he make per game?marez becomes pfa player last two season because of his attacking flares not because he knows how to support the left back or right back,....

I'm with you there mate. He's just an average player beign given many chances.A lot of average strikers can even do better because of the chances Arsenal creates. There are some strikers who are not top quality but have very good finishing that if given the same seasons and chances Giroud has had they can do better.I hate it when they make it seem like only world class strikers are better than him. He's really only improved from season 14/15 honestly speaking. He used to be so bad and waste a lot of chances. It's just that become can not see the fact that he's not as good as they think. We will surely be vindicated by his performance for another club.

This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
I don't think they'd mind either way, chances are they'd bench Willian and play Oscar instead but it gives them options, especially as Oscar usually pulls a Fabregas mid season but to be fair to him he's played more football than anyone in the past 3 or so years, hasn't had a summer break (Olympics, World Cup, Confed Cup) and just had his first pre season since being at Chelsea for 4 years.
In term of CB, people are forgetting that the youth academy have good players in Hayden and Ayaje.Southampton use to do well with their academy because the supporters will allow and accept the youths to be given a chance, now supporters from a big team like Arsenal wants proven expensive world class players in order to win quickly in detriment to give a chance to the youths club.Wenger show preference to some in detriment of others too playing always the same player and giving few chance to others.Bendtner last year was treated badly, look out this year for Campbell and why not give a chance to Ayaje and Hayden who are olders than Chambers in the cb position, don t tell me it s about potential if they are not given a chance?
Bendtner or Chamakh would still have been considered average even if they scored 25goals because they had average talent. For all the potential Bendtner had he never maximised it so as long asit wasn't developed he's still average.I mean it's possoble for an average player to score 25 goals when given the chances and possible for a world class striker to score less than that.Quality is a talent which may be linked to stats but does not necessarily show on stats.Take Ox for example, if you looked at his stats you might think he's average but he's not.Look at Lukaku, he's scored many goals for Everton yetmany people here think he's not gpod enough for Arsenal because they look at the quality and talent andnot just the goals.
Theo will score more than 20 goals if given a run in the team... he gets up to five chances a game all thanks to his movements off the ball and arsenals world class playmakers....
Nothing like one underachiever blowing smoke up the ass of another... we know that Ozil has some incredible technical gifts, but to be considered the best you have to bring more than just assists to the table... for me, a top player has to possess a more well - rounded game, which doesn't mean they need to be a beast on both ends of the pitch, but they must have the ability to take their game to another level when it matters most... although he amassed some record - like stats early on, it set the bar too high, so when people expected him to duplicate those numbers each year the pressure seemed to get the best of our soft - spoken star... obviously that's not an excuse for what has happened in the meantime, but it's important to make note of a few things: (1) his best year was a transition year for many of the traditionally dominant teams in the EPL, so that clearly made the numbers appear better than they actually were and (2) Wenger's system, or lack thereof, didn't do him any favours; by playing him out of position and by not acquiring world - class striker and / or right - side forward that would best fit an Ozil - centered offensive scheme certainly hurt his chances to repeat his earlier peformances, (3) the loss of Cazorla, who took a lot of pressure off Ozil in the midfield and was highly efficient when it came to getting him the ball in space, negatively impacted his effectiveness and (4) he likewise missed a good chunk of games and frankly never looked himself when he eventually returned to the field... overall the Ozil experiment has had mixed reviews and rightfully so, but I do have some empathy for the man because he has always carried himself the same way, whether for Real or the German National team, yet he has only suffered any lengthy down periods with Arsenal... to me that goes directly to this club's inability to surround him with the necessary players to succeed, especially for someone who is a pass first type of player; as such, this simply highlights our club's ineffective and antiquated transfer policies... frankly I'm disappointed in both Ozil and our management team for not stepping up when it counted because they had a chance to do something special, but they didn't have it in them... there is no one that better exemplifies our recent history than Ozil, brief moments of greatness undercut by long periods of disappointing play, only made worse by his mopey posturing like a younger slightly less awkward Wenger... what a terribly waste
How I wish Arsenal had not sold Wellington Silva. The guy is a quality player and would've been a good option from the bench.I just don't get why he was sold. His stats may not have been impressive but if you watch him he's really good. The teams he was loaned out to earlier hardly used him and I felt he had a future here.He just needed to step up his game to be world class. He never lost any of his dribbling and skills. He'd have been the best at that if he was in Arsenal. He deserved his chance and is even better than Joel Campbell who had many chances to prove himself.

This is very interesting.I look at the number of striking options in our team and i wonder how Wenger will be signing a cf.However as i keep saying a cf is a need not a want. And needs are more important than wants. We have needed a World class cf since Robin Van P. Left.Just look at the feeling you get when you have a world class goalkeeper e.g Cech in the team. You feel relieved you know why?Its because the goalkeeper is very reliable, very talented and consistent.Imagine the feeling you would have when having a world class cf in the team. You feel very relieved you know why?its because the cf is very consistent, is super talented, will at most times finish off chances and will mostly create moments of magic.Arsenal need a world class cf so as to have that sense of reliability and to not put too much pressure on the midfield to always create chances for them.We neeed that consistency infront of goal to excel.Right now arsenal's centre forwards are very inconsistent, unreliable at most times and are not very clinical. We need a world class striker so that at least if the team is not performing he can take control and do something out of nothing. You need to understand the benefits of having a world class cf its not just about goals or talent but about being a leader of the attack, a strong scoring mentality and also the will to be consistent.World class cf's give your attack the ish faWorld class cf since Robin Van P. He had a better chance at a pro football career than he had to be a world - class wrestler.
Another attempt by AKB to make us believe our striker are better than world class!!!! When I watched games Giroud chance vs goal is very bad but they try to show it Giroud and Walcott stats are very near or better than Aguero (amazing fabrication of stats!!!!).
A lot of people won't see it but I believe if Maitland - Niles was given his chance at CM (which is his proper position) he'd do better than those who play there. It's just Wenger who has misued the guy.Out of all our youngsters I saw him as the one close to being world class due to the maturity he shows on the ball. He's a player who is very ready for the Arsenal team and I believe he should be given his chance at CM no matter who comes. He's very good but shame it'll take us a long time to realise this when it's too late.
I personally think that the club still has little chance of retaining our 2 world class players despite the rumours but it will obviously come at a cost and be difficult: 1 - Pay them more than anybody else but, and unfortunately they will probably have to insert some type of release clause for next summer if the right club and offer arrives to let them go in case of an ultimate painful underachieving season.
GOONSTER Yes your right we did have some great players in the past and why not now??? If you think we could win the legue with this squad with NO striker then your deluded I'm hoping that AW will buy quality striker and more otherwise our hopes of wining the legue is almost impossible and as for CL no chance but all it takes is to buy couple of more right players we have more than enough funds in the bank so why why why not????? Is it because if Arsen buys quality players then there is no exuse for not wining trophies, I still belive in Wanger but I think his scared of controlling world class players so he goes for neede players or with injury history.
Maybe the protests this year had more impact than we thought, this is Wenger's last chance to be remembered as a champion and to do it against all of the best managers in the world would be commendable, here's hoping he can pull it off.
Yh right.Dont talk like that its irritating like the are no strikers out there better than him.It is a saying that the truth will set you free.Giroud is on the level of average but arsenal have made him look very good only a few will see it.Those who actually watch his every move even without the ball and on it.If i mention the strikers i will take over Giroud some of you here will call me stupid.Listen if Wenger cant sign a striker he should just get Charlie Austin he can finish off chances and he is a good striker, He can be world class if he works hard.Only a matter of time before he proves to the world what they have been but its like just his name does not excite fans.He is even light ahead of Giroud and a neutral would be saying the same thing if he was watching them on tv always.
I have said Ox had a better chance to play his desired position at arsenal than any team in the top six, his skill set fits a wide player, his notion of being like his idol Steven Gerard is rather non-sensical and leaving the pampered world of arsenal, shall only widen his eyes to the reality of cut - throat real world.
With the Gunners set to face Watford next Saturday and with Costa Rica and Chile playing World Cup qualifying matches less than three days before that, the chances of Alexis Sanchez and Joel Campbell being ready to play after a long haul flight back to England are pretty slim.
Not too shabby for a PGA Tour player but not what the world No. 1 has come to expect of himself — especially with his chance to go back - to - back at the Masters little more than three weeks away.
