What caught our attention was seeing
them wear the kente cloth.
Well, this is the long awaited post; I'm actually
wearing this kente (I'm not sure if it's called that, correct me if I'm wrong) dress from Ghana which my mum got for me from one of her frequent visit there.
The doll
wears a Kente Cloth Design Dress with a matching head wrap, and her face is fashioned after an Ashanti fertility doll.

So, I decided to style this
kente dress with my Ghanaian sister also
wearing her native
wear from Ghana.
In form, these works echo traditional
kente cloths
worn by Ghanian kings.
Among the works on view are exquisite examples of
kente cloth, vibrant Ashanti, and Ewe textiles
worn as a sign of wealth and prestige.
