Full skirted, knee - length dresses were
worn with petticoats for added oomph.
In our differing sizes of S and L it looks just as lovely, and can be
worn with petticoat and without.

Most yesteryear garments were not designed to be
worn with today's high tech Victoria's Secret offerings, they were created to be partnered
with the bras, panties, girdles, slips, garter belts, crinolines (
petticoats), and even, in some cases, corsets of their day.

So, after all that, I ended up
wearing the convertible
petticoat for Easter Sunday, as it turned out to be the perfect length to
wear with my Easter dress which is a bit on the shorter side.
Village women are used to
wearing Chania which is more akin to
petticoat and adorned
with glass work, the blouse called «choli» and «odhni» which is a piece of fabric cloth that covers the body and back side of the head.
I also find tulle skirts to be incredibly versatile — I've
worn this one as a
petticoat under dresses, as a skirt on it's own like today's ensemble (
with a slip underneath), and if I'm feeling very cheeky, as a sheer overlay on top of a printed dress.
It closes
with a back zipper and the skirt is full enough to take a
petticoat but it isn't a full circle, so it looks simpler and more modern
worn without a petti.

wore these in the 50's when I was in high school,
with a bunch of crinolin
petticoats under so they stuck out.
The full swing skirt can be
worn with or without a
petticoat, depending on personal preference.
