But the Jan De Bont version is, far and away, one of

bad for everyone involved, including those dumb enough to waste their time and money.
Winchester is in keeping with the brothers» recent work in that it's a standard
haunted house genre
movie that fails to leave a strong impression, good or
bad.
Not because
House on
Haunted Hill was any good (quite the contrary — it was horrible), but because whoever that person or those persons is or are have managed to make an even
worse movie.
