Using the point values for the tasks (which show the relative size
of a task compared to other items that I assigned them on the project requirement list),
students organize their teams around the work by attaching their
names to a card,
writing the estimated number
of days needed to complete the task, and moving the task card into the Busy column.
Create a «getting to know you» bulletin board with the
names of students in the class and short autobiographies they have
written.
Some items in the bag might include cosmetics, newspapers, magazine articles, airline or movie ticket stubs, photographs
of people or places, a music CD, grooming materials, keys, a candy wrapper, a crayon, a slip
of paper with a first
name and phone number

I have this stuck on the back
of my door and
students use a post-it-note to both
write one thing down which they have understood in the lesson as well as their
name, so I can indicate where they think they have made progress.
Students can

You might provide a printable page that has on it numbers that correspond to the numbers on the bulletin board; next to each number on that page
