There are now Critique.org workshops for every genre and every form of

writing, childrens, mysteries, thrillers, romance, and of course «Critters,» our first workshop, for science
fiction, fantasy and horror... — you name it, there's a workshop for it.
I
wrote «A Little Rain Will Fall» while I was studying for my MA in
Creative Writing where we were encouraged to
write literary
fiction.
She has an MFA in
fiction from the University of Montana and a PhD in
creative writing from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, where she's worked as the assistant director of the Nebraska Summer Writers Conference.
She had always had an interest in
writing, and particularly in the burgeoning genre of science
fiction, which she saw as the perfect medium for
creative explorations of gender and feminism, two topics that interested her.
She, like her character Meg, turned into a workaday writer, producing three mystery novels: Dead Clever, In Your Face, and Seaside (all three links go to the full text at Google), featuring the sassy sleuth, Lily Pascale, an English professor who just happens to specialize in horror and crime
fiction as well as
creative writing.
Her
fiction has also been published in Slice Magazine (which nominated her for a Pushcart Prize), LEMON, and 236, BU
Creative Writing's Literary Journal.
Even though I focus on
fiction writing, I also looked through the sections on poetry and
creative nonfiction prompts and was equally impressed with them.
Since then her
writing has spanned romantic
fiction and
creative non-
fiction.
A novel is
creative writing and not journalism at all; it is
fiction where journalism is fact - based.
