Wrong Number does a great job at building upon the greatness in the original, but somehow, along the way, it falls just shy of the mark.
Wrong Number features 25 stages which will take you plenty of hours to complete unless you're good enough to breeze through.
Now, these won't be stellar candidates — and more than a
few wrong numbers — but hey, your phone's ringing!
There aren't many games that deliver the raw, visceral thrills that
Wrong Number does, and we can't wait to see what comes next for the series.

Hotline Miami's
sequel Wrong Number is still in development for launch later this year on PC, Mac, Linux, PS3, PS4 and Vita hardware.
That dance requires the pattern learning and twitchy muscle memory of a masocore game, but every
time Wrong Number throws uncertainty into the mix, intentionally or otherwise, it frustrates attempts at mastery where it should encourage.
Also taking into account enemies patrolling every square inch and you are looking at a fair few hours of frustration... and how
frustrating Wrong Number certainly is.
Whereas the first Hotline Miami allowed you to (mostly) choose between a huge selection of masks with various abilities for every level,
Wrong Number locks you into a specific character or set of characters to suit the story.
From a storytelling standpoint,
Wrong Number fills the same role as the Matrix sequels or Star Wars prequels, the kind of continuation that delivers completely unsatisfying answers that no one asked for in the first place.
With a game like Hotline Miami, a game that was so great because of its simplicity, those types of questions might not have come up, but Devolver Digital (the developer of the series) still managed to go in different directions, and that's what makes Hotline Miami 2:
Wrong Number such a fun game.
Hotline Miami is probably the most violent indie title out there, and with its sequel Hotline Miami 2:
Wrong Number out today and gorier than ever, we're left bobbing our heads to the soundtrack while viciously tearing mobsters apart once again.
