The title refers to the «pedestrian
space,» as Sandback called it, of everyday life, which the artist explored
in sculptures made by stretching lengths of
yarn horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to outline planes and volumes
in space. The exhibition featured six sculptures made between 1970 and 2002, a series of prints from 1976 entitled Four Variations of Two Diagonal Lines, and a selection of
drawings.
