year action research study which has proven successful in encouraging academics to engage with a range of VLE tools and reflect on potential usage within their own teaching practice.

Action (RFA), working in collaboration with Jeffrey Henig of Teachers College, assessed the formation and development of a coalition of organizing and advocacy groups, funded by the Donors» Education Collaborative (DEC), and their impact on the debate about the mayoral control of schools in New York City (NYC).

action research groups — collaboratively examine school priorities all

For three
years they have trained groups of teachers who wanted to participate, training them in
Action Research methods and selecting good questions to
study in their classrooms.
These structures include, but are not limited to, spiraling development during the

research on the standards in
action.
