Francis has been so single - minded
in buildinghis career that during his sophomore
year of high school
in Scottsdale, Ariz., he made the decision — despite the misgivings of his parents, John and Bee — tobe
homeschooled, giving him more flexibility
in his travel and practiceschedules.
It's a new
year, time to evaluate what is working and what is not working
in our
homeschooling.
We went through
homeschool K with some struggles but he has changed so much from 5 to 6
years of age and we are two months into 1st grade now and he is ahead of where he should be, far from where we were
in K. I almost gave up a few times but just kept following my gut.
I have 3 kids, but I basically
homeschool my oldest, who is 7, and we are
in our 3rd (WOW)
year of it and still going strong.
My friend is
in her first
year homeschooling her kids.
Well moving on is sometimes a hard matter for kids who may have grown a big group of friends, for instance 2
years ago when I had to go under a similar situation, one of my kids who as a consequence of me introducing him to a k 12
homeschool curriculum, had grow a good group of friends around the neighborhood, when time came for us to move on he did not want to move on and let behind his friends, so we had to explain him a lot about what we were doing and promise to bring him back so that he could keep
in contact with his friends!
We'll be trying it this
year when we learn about the respiratory system
in our
homeschool!
The Many, many attempts have been made over the past 7
years since I started
homeschooling to get an easy schedule
in place.
We just started
homeschooling this
year and I don't have lots of support from family and I greatly appreciate words of wisdom from moms that have kept a realistic perspective and manage to find the joy
in motherhood.

in Carlsbad, CA) and now strives through the Charter movement to bring Waldorf education to all children at Journey School where she has worked for the past 14

It's really easy to
homeschool, especially
in the younger
years.
