This is not an easy question, but here are some memorable moments in chronological order from the last 15
years: skydiving and hitchhiking across New Zealand, scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef, the first moment I stepped foot in Asia, hiking to Everest Base Camp, cliff diving into Lake Atitlan, climbing Mount Sinai in Egypt, meeting (what I thought were) the friendliest people in the world in Iran,
traveling to remote areas
of Iraq and Pakistan,
sleeping in the Golden Temple in India, swimming with whale sharks in the Philippines, getting married in Greece, and going to Japan with my wife when she was pregnant with our first child.
We've included a range

Having
travelled around Peru for 3 months
of this
year, laid my hat in 34 different towns or cities throughout the country, stayed in 36 different hostels or hospedajes (as they're often referred to over here, although the term refers to more
of a guesthouse than a hostel per sé), and
slept in 38 different beds, I think I am reasonably qualified to write this guide.
Last
year we did most
of the things I mentioned above: left a backpack full
of toys at the airport, couldn't
travel to my in - laws because
of a blizzard, and took turns
sleeping on the bathroom floor between vomits.
