Young Carers in the Niagara Region, with the results of the study published by Dr. Heather Chalmers, PhD from the Department of Child and Youth Studies at Brock University, St. Catharines.
Young Carers in Focus (YCiF) is an exciting opportunity for young carers to feel empowered and supported to have a say about their lives and facilitate change at a Local and National level.
The Young Carers in Focus network will provide a safe, moderated space for young carers to use to communicate, share their stories and campaign for the things that matter most to them.

As part of an ongoing project with the Children's Society, we are producing top tips on how to ensure fathers and father - figures
in young carer families receive the support they need.
Nobody knows for sure how many
young carers are looking after their fathers — but we know that some
young carers won't be identified as such, because services
in touch with their dads don't «see» their fatherhood and as a result won't think about, or offer any support to, their children.

Young Carers Initiative Niagara (YCIN) was born.
