In addition, LSG is dedicated to a contemporary program that incorporates paintings, photography and sculpture, as well as conceptual and multimedia art by a growing roster of regional, national and international artists, including Gino Miles, Thalen & Thalen, Chris Bracey, David Spiller, Jason Myers, Russell Young, David Kramer, Wayne Warren, Dale Enochs, Constance Edwards Scopelitis and William John Kennedy.

15 November, 2011 - The Power Plant opens two major exhibitions: a new project by renowned Canadian artist Stan Douglas; and an international group exhibition of work by younger artists — both reflect on poignant moments in cultural history and their enduring effects on our contemporary experience.

Other missions of the organization are to encourage the production of works, train new practioners — mainly young critics, curators and artists — disseminate national and international contemporary art, in addition to promoting subjects related to the area.

That is why at Amsterdam Art, we strive to connect people and art, offer talented young artists a platform, and enable Amsterdam's contemporary art scene to excel at an international level.

Projects in the Making introduces rising young US - based Iranian mixed - media and installation artist Sarah Rahbar to a broader international audience, while news and profiles editor HG Masters reviews several notable books from 2007, including User's Manual: Contemporary Art in Turkey 1986 - 2006, Makoto Aida: Monument for Nothing and Rirkrit Tiravanija: A Retrospective (tomorrow is another fine day).

Among the hundreds of mostly younger artists taking part in the 2014 Liverpool Biennial, Britain's biggest festival of international contemporary art, one name stands out: James McNeil Whistler.

A total of 150 works by some 80 artists will be shown, from classical paintings of the forties through Andy Warhol to contemporary renowned and as well yet less known protagonists of young international art.
